1st July 2020
What a super busy few weeks we have had at the cottages on the run up to reopening again on Saturday 4th July!
All to further enhance the social distancing and cleaning practices here at Springfield Barns.
From reviewing our cleaning practices and products, updating risk assessments, installing new fences and gates, installing external hand sanitiser units, changing check in and out, changing our Welcome Pack, to producing the Welcome Book digitally.
All that said I am thrilled to also say we have gained Visit England recognition with their "We're Good To Go" scheme.
We will be proudly displaying our certificate in our cottages.

26th May 2020
Whilst the cottages remain closed we are using the time to further enhance guest confidence and reassurance of holidaying with us here at Springfield Barns from 4th July 2020 onwards.
We believe the most important areas to support this are social distancing and cleanliness.
Whilst our location is naturally excellent for social distancing and both cottages have their own gardens / parking areas we are further improving the outdoor spaces to increase privacy and social distancing from other guests and ourselves. Also under review is contactless check in, follow up checks and the communication of the Welcome Folder.
Cleanliness has always been paramount here at Springfield Barns and we continue to update the cleaning and sanitising routines. Also under review are cleaning products, cleaning times, signage, messaging and the removal of non essential items from the cottages.
Our aim is to provide holiday accommodation that you feel safe to relax and stay in whilst away from home.
If you require any further information about our cottages or the surrounding area please get in touch either by email or phone.

The Cookes x
13th May 2020
The Prime Minister’s TV appearance on Sunday 10th May outlined a high-level, three-step process to easing lockdown measures. Subsequently, the Cabinet Office published the COVID-19 Recovery Strategy, which added more clarity to the plan and relating specifically to hospitality accommodation reopening. So we now have a target date of opening of 4th July.
We are now accepting new holiday bookings with a Check In from the 4th July. We realise this date could change if the COVID19 threat level increases or does not drop sufficiently over the coming weeks. If this is the case we will be happy to move these bookings to new dates later in 2020 or into early 2021.
Please get in touch if you want to discuss any aspect of your possible holiday with us prior to booking.
Stay at home warriors x
24th March 2020
In support of the Government announcement on Monday evening we currently are not accepting new holiday bookings for April and May.
However the cottages continue to be available for key workers who require accommodation away from their own family home to enable them to continue with their essential work.
We are accepting new holiday bookings with a Check In from the 1st June. In the event the country is still under current guidelines of remaining at home we will be happy to move these bookings to new dates later in 2020 or into 2021.
If in doubt just get in touch for a chat.

With the ever evolving uncertain times Corona Virus has given us we thought we would update the website to confirm the cottages at Springfield Barns are remaining open for short breaks and holidays.
Also to assure you of the cleanliness standards that we have here at the cottages.
As routine when all guests check out it takes approximately 2 ½ hours to 3 hours to clean and prepare each cottage ready for the next guests.
After every set of guests all towels and bedding are stripped and removed, including pillow liners, bed throws, bed cushion covers, sofa throws, sofa cushion covers. The cottage is hoovered throughout then cleaned. All hard surfaces such as tables, drawers, shelves and window sills are cleaned from top to bottom with quality cleaning products and hygienically clean designated cleaning cloths. All the kitchen work tops, equipment and appliances are also checked and cleaned. The bathroom is the final area to be cleaned. The lounge, bedroom and bathroom are prepared with freshly laundered sofa furnishings, bedding and towels. After replenishing cottage toiletries, cleaning / disposable items and the welcome basket the entire cottage is mopped.
We pride ourselves on the standard we continue to maintain to give all guests that “home from home” feeling when they arrive.
In addition to the routine cleaning, we now clean all door handles, light switches, remote controls and the key safe after every departure.
Guests often comment about the cottages cleanliness in reviews / comments as can be seen on the website Reviews page, on Reevoo and on our Facebook page.
For getting away from it all, we are very fortunate of our countryside location, based in a small hamlet of only 6 properties. Guests arrive and depart using the individual key safes so do not need to meet us. Also the entrances to both cottages, The Parlour and The Dairy, are on different sides of the building so guests don’t even see each other either.
Prior to Corona Virus we would always visit the cottages once the guests had arrived to say hello but we will now no longer do this and we will be available on the telephone and messaging if required.
I hope my update allays any concerns you may have about your forthcoming stay or booking.
I will continue to update the website as new Government information is released that may impact the cottages and our guests.
Keep well and stay safe x
